A 240 MW floating wind farm is to be built off the coast of Brittany
The French Ministry of the Economy has announced that the first 250 MW floating wind farm is to be built to the west of Belle-Ile-en-Mer. The CRE has selected the bid submitted by a consortium formed by Belgian producer Elicio and BayWa r.e., a German renewable energy developer and energy solutions provider. The tariff proposed by the consortium is €86.45/MWh. The wind farm is scheduled to come on stream by 2032. The project comprises 12 20 MW turbines. The tender was launched in April 2021. The price offered by the winning bidder is significantly lower than the ceiling price stipulated at the time in the tender specifications (€140/MWh).
